*Job Overview:* Provide professional, courteous customer service while
ensuring accurate analysis, resolution, and/or follow up of reported product
failures, configuration problems and technical inquiries.    Job focus is
supporting Hitachi Server Products and related operating systems,
virtualization, networking and applications.



*Job Functions:*

1.    30% - Develop and provide accurate and creative solutions for customer
issues resulting in a timely distribution of knowledge and positive impact
on customer satisfaction.

2.    10% - Lead and assist other support center specialists in support of a
major or other complex problem.

3.    10% - Contribute to Technical Knowledge Base by reviewing and
enhancing other support center specialists' solutions and creating useful,
findable solutions.

4.    10% - Document problem description, error message, troubleshooting
steps, recommendation or action plan to customer.

5.    10% - Develop and provide technical coaching and mentoring to other
support center specialists.

6.    10% - Act as a product liaison for major products, working with other
corporate departments and 3rd party developers to solve technical issues.

7.    10% - Lead team projects that enhance the quality and/or efficiency of
the support center.

8.    5% - Author Problem Reports to be presented to customer (both internal
and external).

9.    5% - Communicate with management team on "critical" issues requiring
immediate attention.



*Primary Qualifications:*

The candidate will have a four year technical degree or the equivalent work
experience.

The candidate will have an aptitude for providing positive customer service
and good communication, problem solving, and technical writing skills.

 The candidate will have excellent organizational skills to manage many
highly critical issues simultaneously.

 The candidate will have over 5 years of experience working with Storage
Management Software and Hardware  in high capacity / high availability
environments with the following configurations:



·         Industry Standard Server and Blade Hardware:

o    Hitachi BladeSymphony and rack servers

o    HP Proliant and Integrity servers and blades

o    IBM System X, P, and Blade Center

o    Dell PowerEdge blade and rack servers

o    etc…



·         Heterogeneous environments with multiple OS platforms to include:

o    AIX

o    HPUX

o    Solaris

o    Linux

o    Windows Server Clustering

o    OpenVMS

o    Tru64

o    Dynix

o    etc...



·         Applications Including

o    Microsoft SQL, Exchange etc.

o    Oracle, DB2 etc.

o    SAP

o    etc…



·         Virtualization Technologies including:

o    VMware

o    Microsoft Hyper-V

o    Xen

o    Solaris Containers

o    LPARs

o    etc…



·         Networking and Security

o    Support for complex networking environments

o    Security including MS Active Directory, LDAP, Radius

o    DNS, WINS, DHCP etc

o    CIFS, NFS



And/or:



Over 2 years of experience and/or knowledge of:



·         Network Attached Storage and Content Solutions

o    NetApp FAS and V-Series

o    EMC Celerra and Centera

o    Microsoft File Services

o    Ediscovery, Content, Archive and Search Solutions.
