HTML experience and web page deployment, intranet administration and
deployment, applications administration and troubleshooting, root cause
analysis, MS Excel and MS Access experience
XML, JavaScript, Crystal Reports experience (nice to have)
6+ years progressive work related experience in the design, administration,
programming, and support of RDBMS
May lead or mentor less experienced staff and/or projects in area of
knowledge.
This position is responsible for the design, implementation, and maintenance
of moderately complex physical databases in support of various business
applications.
Participates in the development and implementation of short and long term
database strategies of multi-user, multi-functional systems.
Ensures effective data management through the collaboration between systems,
QA, and application groups.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Plans, designs and documents standards of physical data. Also supports the
implementation of databases on a variety of platforms.
Contributes to the review and design of new or existing systems.
Reviews technical and data standards to ensure compatible integration with
other resources.
Maximizes the efficiency of all production and non-production databases to
ensure that the design of data structures complies with standards and
guidelines.
Determines when database structures should be reorganized and monitors file
system space, database allocation and the appropriate use of disk storage
and space allocation at predefined regular intervals by monitoring/managing
database capacity and developing capacity plans.
Supports Quality Assurance roles by participating in the development of test
and QA database environments.
Configures database parameters and prototypes designs, defines data
warehouse requirements and may perform installations and upgrades to
relational databases and related products in order to maintain up to date
release and maintenance standards to ensure a stable production and
development environment.
MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Demonstrated proficiency in development of database models, designs,
deployment and recovery techniques and performance monitoring, correction
and capacity management.
Demonstrated understanding of project management methodology.
