This is Guru from LoginSoft Consulting LLC, We have a urgent requirement with one of our direct client. * * *Technical Writer* *Location: Chevy Chase, MD* *Duration: 6+Months* *Short Description: * Collect, evaluate and formalize the current documentation processes for an agile software development team that supports a social/community platform for a family of related websites. Author, or establish processes for authoring, future documentation. *Complete Description: * 1. Document Organization and Management: Requires familiarity and ease with tools like JIRA (an issue tracking tool typical for software development), Confluence (Wiki), SharePoint, BaseCamp, Apache Subversion, and others o Ingest current document types o Standardize the formats o Recommend/define a central document storage repository (either Confluence (Wiki) or Sharepoint) o Implement organizational structure in selected repository tools o Develop templates and scripts for selected document management tool that can be applied to future documentation o Work with stakeholders to formalize the documentation process moving forward *2. Document Authoring: * Requires strong writing and editing skills, as well as the ability to work closely with the tech teams and the product teams o Aggregate and revise current documentation according to new standards o Create new documentation for development processes, user training and user guides, online help files, release notes, internal and external presentations, etc. o Edit and standardize material prepared by other authors Behavior Characteristics: Candidate should be willing to learn, desire responsibility, follow through, and be eager for a challenging role and the opportunity to gain new skills.
