Duration: 6+Months *
* Duties and Responsibilities *
Build standards-compliant cross-browser/platform compatible web pages,
integrating front end code with Java, TCL, PHP and others.
Build standards-compliant cross-browser/platform compatible web page
content to be delivered via Scripps Ad Serving platform.
Front End development in the form of standards-compliant cross-browser
compatible production and maintenance for our premium content packages
Develop and maintain internal tools built to optimize build processes for
Tentpole components such as Tours, Calendars, etc.
Collaborate with creative services designers, ad sales production and
marketing, ad operations and team management to provide optimal experiences
for both our advertisers and end users.
Troubleshooting a wide variety of technical scenarios across packages,
tentpole, and event pages.
Ad product development - prototyping, testing and support.
Collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers and
usability engineers to refine the user experience
Communicate project status, risks, options etc. to technical and
non-technical stakeholders alike
Other duties as assigned
*Education & Experience *BS/BA in related discipline and 2-5 years of
experience in related field - OR -
MS/MA/MBA or other graduate degree and 2-4 year of experience in related
field Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
Applies broad functional/technical and business knowledge to complete
moderately complex assignments under minimal supervision
Gains more advanced knowledge through experience
Monitors timelines and adjusts work as needed to achieve success
Understanding of web/usability/accessibility standards
Excellent troubleshooting & performance optimization skills
Proficient at communicating with non-technical stakeholders, and
communicating risks & benefits of different approaches to provided
project/product goals.
Javascript (including DOM, object-oriented JavaScript, Ajax, JSON, events,
callbacks) and well-demonstrated XHTML/CSS
Functional knowledge of jQuery
Knowledge of version control systems (SVN, Mercurial, GIT)
TCL, Vignette Experience (optional)
Experience with PHP and integrating front-end code with PHP (optional)
Knowledge and experience with XSL (optional)
Experience with Adobe Flash (optional)
Experience with Java (optional)
