*Job Description:* Database administrator position will support finalizing merger/acquisition efforts of migrating databases from an acquired company. This position will support database compliance and security efforts of a new Oracle database environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for Oracle production support and database availability, database security patching, implementation of Oracle database maintenance and support the availability of development, QA and pre-production environments. The candidate will also work with a portfolio of applications and will work with business technology groups to implement new database solutions and to maintain their own existing database portfolio. Specific functions include but not limited to: •· Use knowledge of DISA STIGS to document security baselines for Oracle databases. - Create DISA STIG remediation and compliance plan to apply to identified Oracle databases. •· Control access to tables, plans, and packages •· Tune SQL queries •· Monitor state of the DBMS •· Prepare for upgrades and migration •· Reduce or automate repetitive tasks •· Maintain structural consistency within the multiple test environments •· Document DBA tasks to provide standard methodologies •· Follow the formal change process for installing changes to production *Job Requirements:* - 5 or more year’s professional experience as a database administrator on the targeted operating system platform. Project/functional leadership experience. - Bachelor’s degree in an IT related area or equivalent work experience. - Must have advanced demonstrated proficiency in using / supporting Oracle database 10g prefereably 11g. Must have solid demonstrated proficiency using / supporting Red Hat Linux, UNIX or AIX operating system , to include advanced scripting. - Must possess broad working knowledge of IT industry database technologies, processes, as well as business applications (ERP, CRM) integrated with database technologies. Healthcare industry knowledge is desired. Must have detailed knowledge of hardware architecture. Must have a detailed knowledge of operating systems. Must have detailed knowledge of third party tools. Must have detailed knowledge of performance monitoring tools. Must have detailed knowledge of backup and recovery concepts. Solid knowledge of PMM concepts, methodologies and tools is required. Must have a basic understanding of n-tier application architecture and related web technologies.
