As a result of SAP coming in, many legacy systems are being sunsetted, and part of that process is the migration of various data (master data and otherwise) from the legacy to new SAP systems. What happens during this process is 1 IT team will extract the data from the legacy systems, and put it into an Access Database (and it then gets further divided into Excel files)from there, once the data is cleansed/scrubbed/normalized/deduplicated, then another IT team will load the data into SAP That middle ground (Access and Excel) is where these roles livethey are the ones who analyze and clean the Excel data (and they MIGHT do some Access work) o Advanced excel skills are typically preferred proficiency with pivot tables, v-lookups, advanced functions and formulas, etc o Eye for detail, and past experience some sort of similar Data Analyst role preferred o Working knowledge of SAP a plus (i.e. having been a user or otherwise, as that gives a person a better mentality for how the data should look in SAP)
