Uses knowledge of LAN/WAN systems to help design and install internal and external networks. Tests and evaluates network systems to eliminate problems and make improvements. Principal responsibilities include implementation of network upgrades at internal company transmission facilities. Successful candidate will work with engineering to develop design solutions and coordinate with on-site technicians to successfully execute equipment replacement projects and host migrations. Perform configuration, testing, and related issue resolution troubleshooting necessary to place new VMN network infrastructure equipment in service. Implement configuration changes, testing, and issue resolution troubleshooting necessary to support VMN approved network plans and or engineering design guidance documents on existing operational VMN network infrastructure equipment. The configuration and testing will occur at the access, distribution, and core layers of the network.
