JOB DESCRIPTION: client has an immediate need for a Release Engineer. Please see below for details: Location: New York, NY Duration: 6+ month contract Hourly: Open Skills Summary (Technical and Soft): Technical 4+ years in a Windows/UNIX/Linux Release Engineering role, including Source Code Management administration Building and deploying .Net and Java based applications Isolating build/deployment issues versus code issues In-depth understanding of the principles and best practices of Software Configuration Management. 3+ years' deployment automation and SCM experience (e.g. Jenkins, GIT, workflows, etc.) 2+ years CI tools experience (e.g. Jenkins, etc.) 3+ years using defect tracking systems (e.g. JIRA, ServiceNow, etc.) Experience working with web server technologies (e.g. IIS) Experience working with Load Balancing tools (e.g. F5) Experience using major relational databases (e.g. Oracle, SQL) Experience with enterprise job scheduling or batch scheduling tools. Experience implementing or using Continuous Delivery methodologies. Very strong penchant for automation.
