Senior Data Architect and Integration Engineer responsible for
collaborating on Data Services batch and real-time Big Data processing
platform to support Digital Customer and Audience Insights Data Warehouse
Senior Data Architect and Integration Engineer
The Client Data Services organization has an immediate need for a Senior
Data Architect and Integration Engineer to collaborate with a diverse team
of software engineers in design and management of large scale data stores,
multi-tier, multi-source data integration systems, and test automation and
continuous deployment platforms. Candidates should possess at least 8
years of professional experience and preferably hold a Bachelor’s degree in
Computer Science or similar technical field. We value creativity,
intelligence, technical leadership and strong interpersonal skills, and
cultivate a team based approach in all aspects of the application
development lifecycle.
*Essential Responsibilities*
• Work with technical team lead to effectively evaluate business
requirements for data integration projects.
• Collaborate with other developers to create detailed technical design
specifications based on business requirements.
• Perform in-depth data analysis to understand data from multiple source
systems.
• Assist in all aspects of data virtualization by participating in data
architecture, development and support of ETL and complex integration
applications.
• Leverage a continuous integration platform to support build and test
automation, continuous integration and deployment for all data services
platforms.
• Develop high quality technical solutions individually and as a part of
a larger team.
• Work independently with minimal managerial oversight.
• Mentor junior developers and lead technical design sessions with full
team participation.
• Performance-tune all products and platform implementations.
• Contribute to the project planning process by estimating tasks and
deliverables.
• Proactively anticipate issues and work toward timely resolution to
prevent project impact.
• Thoroughly document project deliverables, including architecture,
design, technical implementation, performance metrics, production
environment, and application/system operational details.
*Required Technical Skills*
• Thorough understanding of data access, integration and analytics
concepts
• Knowledge and experience with data architecture techniques
• Understanding of ETL concepts and ETL experience within a large data
integration environment
• Significant experience with SQL and RDBMS systems, preferably MySQL
and/or Oracle.
• Experience with big data technology platforms and languages including
Hadoop, YARN, MapReduce, Hive, Pig
• Experience developing and unit testing Java enterprise applications
including web services frameworks using technologies such as OSGI, Apache
CXF and Spring MVC
• Experience with continuous integration and deployment tools and
frameworks
• Development experience with multi-threaded and/or multi-processing
applications
• Exposure to complex systems integration
• Experience in creating technical requirements, designing data models,
data integration pipelines and data access platforms
• Familiarity with Linux, Unix shell scripting, and other scripting
languages such as Python or Perl
• SQL and PL/SQL experience
• Experience with cloud storage and on-demand computing, preferably AWS

• Solid communication skills, and the ability to effectively communicate
with technical staff, project management and business stakeholders.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate in making
design and implementation decisions as a part of a team
• The ability to mentor and lead junior engineers.
• Solid judgment and reasoning skills. The ability to make sound
decisions under stressful circumstances.
• Significant skill and experience in proactive problem solving and
developing creative solutions.
• Self motivated, focused and able to drive large projects to completion.

• Knowledge and experience with digital data
• Knowledge and experience supporting customer insights analysis and
reporting
• Event processing platforms, preferably Storm and Kafka
• Knowledge of Master Data Management platforms
• Multiple Programming and scripting languages
• Cloud storage and computing
*Preferred Technologies*
Unix/Linux, RDBMS (Oracle, MySql), NoSQL (HBase, Cassandra, MongoDB, etc),
Distributed Computing Environments and Tools (Hadoop, MapReduce, Hive,
Pig), Programming Languages (Java, SQL, Python, Perl), Talend, Testing
and Integration Tools (Jenkins, Sonar, jUnit, jBehave, jMeter, Svn, Git,
Nexus), Open Source Systems and Data Virtualization platforms
(Tomcat/Jboss, JCR, OSGi, BPM tools), Data Analysis and visualization tools
(Hue, R, Tableau), Cloud storage and on-demand computing infrastructure
preferably AWS.
