*Managing the testing of ETL - so that might be key HP QTP = HP UFT* WHAT GETS YOU THE JOB: * 5 Years of experience as QA analyst and/or Senior tester role preferred * Experienced in working with QA tasks under various development methodologies including Waterfall, Agile and RUP. * Experience in testing multi-tier web applications * Experience with Microsoft Windows platforms; Solid experience in working with Microsoft based web technologies, * Microsoft *SQL Server databases and Microsoft Team Foundation Server (TFS)* * Solid experience with scripting languages like *VB and SQL scripting* * Knowledge of relational database design, programming and information retrieval techniques; Solid experience in writing simple SQL queries, insert/update statements * Experience with Regression, Automation, Performance, Load and Stress Testing techniques. * Through understanding of test automation and experience in both manual and automated test efforts. * In depth understanding and hands on experience in configuring, using, upgrading and mentoring on *QA tools like HP-ALM,* * *HP-UFT (formerly known as HP-QTP), HP LoadRunner* * Broad-based knowledge of computer hardware, software, platforms, networks, web programming techniques, and operating systems * Ability to collate and analyze defects, present the results using charts for root cause analysis and provide feedback to compare against defined parameters. * Excellent computer skills and proficiency with MS Word, MS Excel, MS Project; * Must be experienced in working in Agile environment (must be able to keep up with sprints and able to gather own requirements etc.) * Bachelors Degree in a Business, Engineering or QA discipline or equivalent A DAY IN THE LIFE: * This is a "hands-on" position with delivery responsibilities, a lot of manual testing. * Responsible for developing and executing test cases, test plans, test design and procedures for functional software testing and regression testing of new development and maintenance releases. * Responsible for the development and execution of manual and automated test cases and scripts * Responsible for testing the security compliance of the software application * Ensure compatibility and interoperability of various integrated computing systems. * Create the testing artifacts in collaboration with the development staff and product managers to define the scope and effort of the required work, using risks based analysis, ensure quality and performance. * Coordinate and perform in-depth tests, including end-user reviews, for enhanced and new systems. * Provide orientation and training to end users to facilitate user acceptance testing of the assigned modules. * Advocate agile development methodologies and ensure team members follow agile principles. The QA team member works as an integral member of multi-disciplined project team providing specific expertise in quality assurance throughout the full development cycle of our software solution. * Participate in planning and prioritization sessions as required. * Contribute in establishing Quality Assurance practices in a dynamic software development environment. * Maintain responsibility in the assigned modules for assuring that all products and associated documentation are defect free and compliant with technical specifications. * Perform tracking and reporting of test results; Defect tracking and reporting for the modules assigned. * Maintain testing environments and associated test data for the assigned modules; creation of test data for each release and test type; creation and maintenance of scripts/utilities for loading/reloading test databases. * Provide on the job training and mentoring to team members in testing processes and techniques and in the software modules supported. * Contribute in the testing tools evaluation, selection, configuration and implementation. * Ensure that the software solutions and services that IT provide are suitable for the purpose and meets customer expectations; * Manage the testing of ETL systems, Data Integration services, Data Cleansing applications, Data Warehousing and Datamart solutions.
