Job Title: Systems Support Engineer Location: Birmingham, AL
Duration : 2+ Months Rate: $35/hr Required skills: UNIX, VMware, error logging or load balancing, application support from a systems perspective Job description: Primary Duties: -Plans, delivers, configures and prepares client Testing (UAT) and Production environments following product hardware and software installation requirements and Our Company’s HIPAA Privacy and Security requirements in complex healthcare environments. -Provides second and third level support of IT/Application related issues with clients. -Performs troubleshooting on Active Directory/LDAP issues as it relates to Our Company clients and products. -Performs troubleshooting within Client Load Balanced environments. -Analyzes system issues and provides advanced troubleshooting of system hardware, software, networks and operating systems to Our Company clients and internal teams to determine the cause of failure or malfunction and to correct if necessary to ensure proper functioning. -Assists clients with the maintenance of patch levels within Our Company's product environments. -Assists client in Disaster Recovery, backup and roll back planning related to Our Company products and best practices. -Assists in the detailed and smoke testing efforts of various products during installation and upgrades. -Assists in providing requirements for future enhancements related to changes to product performance, stability, environments, upgrading processes and installations. -Provides Our Company team support including Sales, Product Management, Training, Engineering, EA and QA Support. -Provides onsite consultation, installation and support to Our Company clients, as needed. -Delivers and prepares internal Development and QA environments following product hardware and software installation requirements. -Maintains detailed documentation and diagrams for Our Company and client environments. -Has ability to work on multiple complex tasks simultaneously while maintaining a sense of humor. -Possesses an eagerness to learn new technologies. Minimum Qualifications: - Experience as a Microsoft or Unix System engineer. -Experience monitoring and managing complex web-based systems. -Microsoft Windows Server experience (i.e. Active Directory experience, NTFS security and permissions, DHCP, DNS) -Microsoft Internet Information Server, IIS6, IIS7 Microsoft SQL Experience -Server Virtualization: MS Hyper-V, VMWare Visual Studio experience is a plus Qualified Candidate must also have experience and working knowledge of the following: - Firewall installations - Site to Site VPN usage - Third Party VPN clients (i.e. Cisco, Nortel, or SecureLink) Backup -Solutions, such as ShadowProtect, Symantec Backup Exec or Acronis -TCP/IP Ports and Protocols.
