Qualifications

·         5+
Years of Information Security expertise in the following domains -
Security Perimeter design, Security Zone design, Network communications
using Cisco Switching and Routing, Palo Alto Firewalls, Cisco ASA
firewalls.

·         Device Management including provisioning and hardening and policy
Management using RedSeal security tools.

·         Strong
analytical skills to identify current state network and communication.
Ability to diagram using VISIO and document using other Microsoft Office
applications.

·         Strong interpersonal skills, ability to mentor/train staff and
bring awareness to current and emerging threats.

·         Previously demonstrated ability to execute tactical activities
while retaining a long-term strategic view.

·         Strong
written and verbal communications skills with an ability to present
technical risks and issues to non-technical audiences.





Role and Responsibilities

The
Network Security Engineer (NSE) provides architecture, design and
implementation expertise as it pertains to assessing, evaluating, and
securing Customers Network Architecture, Infrastructure, and
communications. The NSE must have experience in the redesign and
implementation of secure network communications, firewalls and 3rd
party connectivity. The NSE must also have experience with security and
network tools to include Red Seal. The NSE must be experience designing
and implementing network systems baseline configuration standards and
enforcement using Red Seal tools.



The
NSE is expected to provide leadership, guidance and technical expertise
to project teams to ensure solutions are being designed and implemented
in a manner that meets customer polies and industry best practices.
This role assist in the Enterprise Architecture process.



The
NSE will be accountable for developing and communicating baseline
security standards and policies as it pertains to network communications
and systems. The NSE will be required to work with other organizational
units to define security requirements for new projects or changes to
existing systems.



The
NSE must have the ability to develop metrics needed to communicate risk
levels to the organization and articulate the value derived from the
Services provided to the company.  The NSE will need to have the ability
to evaluate potential business impacts and threats, to determine the
risks to the organization, in order to properly define security
requirements and control standards.



Education Requirements

·         Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or
Information Security, equivalent work experience or military background

·         Vendor related networking Certifications (e.g. CCNA, CCNP, CCIE
or other Cisco Related certifications)

·         Vendor related Firewall Certifications (e.g. Checkpoint, Palo
Alto, Cisco, etc.)

·         General Security certifications (Certified Information Systems
Security Professional. (CISSP, CISA, CISM, CEH, etc.

Preferred Skills

·         Expertise with industry standard frameworks (NIST, PCI, Safe
Harbor, ISO)

·         Strong written and oral skills

·         Exception analysis documentation skills. Experience with
diagramming and design using Visio.
