The Sr. Software Engineer will be the first developer of its kind on site at our client, with room for growth. The Software Engineer is expected to solve complex engineering problems quickly and smartly. They contribute their ideas at various stages of the project, including having a strong voice in application architecture, investigating solutions, and finding ways to innovate. Applicants for the Sr. Software Engineer role must have full-stack development experience, as well as use a holistic approach to technical solutions planning. Core Job Duties + Responsibilities: · Design, support, and build advanced web applications · Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features. · Unit-test code for robustness, including edge cases, usability, and general reliability. · Work on bug fixing and improving application performance. · Continuously discover, evaluate, and implement new technologies to maximize development efficiency. · Provide technical planning, development, and systems from definition phase through implementation · Facilitate communication of technical matters among internal team as well as external partners · Analyze requirements, wireframes and capabilities of related systems to propose appropriate solutions · Write clean, stable, unit-tested code and accompanying documentation where needed · Research and share industry innovations and trends The ideal candidate possesses: · Experience working on full-stack Rails-based projects composed of multiple custom gems/engines. · Strong knowledge of Ember.js is required for maintaining the front-end of the application. · Strong understanding of REST-based APIs is critical for maintenance of the backend + middleware. · In-depth knowledge of Ruby/Rails, Coffeescript, Emberscript, Emblem, and Slim. · Knowledge of AWS is beneficial as well, namely S3, Cloudfront, RDS. EC2, Elasticache, SQS, and SNS. · LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySql and PHP) with Wordpress skills. · Ability to manage CSS, Javascript,new templates (HTML), SEO, adjusting areas of the Admin. · Familiar with Unix/Linux command line. · Additional Wordpress skills include familiarity with Custom Post Types Advanced Custom Fields Plugin is helpful, but not requisite. · Additional qualification in using the configuration management tool Chef is helpful, but not requisite.
