I mean real experience working on them, not just giving me the information from the HP website. We also are moving to Cisco UCS blades and rack mounts in the next 3 months, this person should be familiar with that as we’ll ask them to help engineer and then operate the environment as we look to stand it up. • They need to be technically sound in the setup, configuration and troubleshooting of and Red Hat Linux 5.x and 6.x along with Satellite and SCRIPTING experience (for the Linux RFP). • Understands storage and SAN configurations enough to troubleshoot problems related to HP blades, boot from SAN and multipathing as well as dealing with replicated storage • Ability to document and create new processes and procedures to drive efficiencies by thinking “out of the box” • Real experience with VMWare ESX. Our environment is currently be 85%-90%, so this is critical to be successful in this position. If they can manage an ESX environment in full, that’s a plus. • I really need a person who can think and not someone looking for us to tell them what to do, think “self-starter” and “low-maintenance”, that’s what I need. Note that this is both and ENGINEERING and OPERATIONAL position, meaning the candidate needs to be able analytically think about how solutions fit into the bigger picture as well as understanding how what gets designed leads to successful and efficient operations. I don’t want resumes for project managers, business analysts or people who have NOT worked with these technologies within the last 6 months. The candidate must be okay working when we need them (daytime, evenings, weekends, etc). They will be part of a fast paced team and will need to be a self-starter and pick things up fast in order to provide value back to us very quickly to be successful as we are in the midst of a divestiture of our supply business line and recently completed an organizational change. This is a 9-12 month contract until December 2015 at the latest with possibility of extension, but that’s never a guarantee and they need to be okay with that. Start date can be as soon as they are willing to get through our initial screening process (NERC). I’ll be doing phone screens Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday if possible so have your TOP candidates to me ASAP, hopefully the RFP will be out by then. You can ignore the dates they give you in the RFP as that’s just a formality, you can work directly with me. I always give preference to LOCAL candidates to Lehigh Valley however I understand the challenges of finding the right talent. But from your perspective, if you get me a candidate that is moving to Lehigh Valley, make sure they actually show up for the job because I have had way too many people NOT show up for their first day in that arrangement.
