*LINUX ENGINEER:*

*I.**                    Job Summary *



The LINUX Systems Engineer will work with our System Architect and Security
Engineers to design and execute plans to implement new, high availability
platforms, as well as mentor our existing technical resources on best
practices and emerging technologies.  The LINUX Systems Engineer has prior
experience in an enterprise IT organization, offering world-class services,
and is familiar with strong process controls, and possesses expertise in
current and current-minus-one release levels of our software suite.



*II.**                  Essential Duties and Responsibilities *



·         Collaborates with other IT TechOps and Application Development
team leads and staff to facilitate problem resolution and project
feasibility, definition and completion,

·         Manages network-attached and direct-attached storage
technologies, improving existing systems and hard drive storage
requirements.

·         Performs maintenance on LINUX based client/server systems, and
must be proficient in LINUX-based storage systems, utility services and
programs.

·         Coordinates with change management team to ensure production
release procedures are properly completed prior to implementation of
changes in production.

·         Participates in the development, maintenance, and testing of
business continuity and disaster recovery capabilities and procedures
associated with our IT infrastructure.

·         Assists IT security personnel in the design, development, and
implementation of security technologies to prevent, detect, and respond to
internal and external security threats.

·         Works with network personnel to monitor volume, capacity, and
bandwidth of existing network architecture to meet changing priorities and
effectively manage growth.

·         Applies preventative maintenance routines to ensure system
performance, availability, and security.

·         Performs troubleshooting, LINUX installations, and maintenance
routines and tasks as needed.

·         Ensures technology solutions are well documented, and
consistently compliant with best-practices, departmental standards and
policies, and established procedures.

·         Adheres to established Service Management, Project Management and
SDLC policies and procedures.



*III.**                Education and/or Experience *



·         Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
related field required. Master’s degree desired.

·         Experience supporting 24-hour operation, covering multiple time
zones

·         Experience in supporting a manufacturing/distribution
organization.

·         Experience in consumer packaged goods manufacturing/distribution
is preferred.

·         Experience supporting a national brand is required with global
brand experience preferred.

·         Experience with any structured methodology requiring conceptual
and detailed design of engineered solutions.

·         Minimum of 5 years IT experience with demonstrated experience in
Linux systems.

·         Proven ability to multi-task and operate in a dynamic enterprise
environment.

·         In-depth understanding of client-server systems, data storage
systems, and data center operations.

·         Working knowledge of NAS and/or SAN storage technologies.

·         Working knowledge of server hardware.

·         Demonstrated expertise with RedHat 6.x, Lightweight Directory
Access Protocol, Shell Script, and SQL.

·         Advanced knowledge of network protocols such as TCP/IP, WINS,
DHCP, DNS, SNMP, FTP, HTTP, SMTP, etc.

·         Experience supporting Disaster Recovery Sites and related
technologies.

·         Documented technical training or certification in Linux, RedHat
or other IT technologies highly desirable.

·         Must have excellent interpersonal and motivational skills.
