9 -12 month contract in New york City with a Japanesse Bank Location NYC Our client, a major international investment bank is looking for a Sr. Java Developer / Consultant to join their *Market / Credit Risk *application development team in NYC. The team manages a combination of custom developed tools and vendor solutions. The candidate will be developing and enhancing applications used globally in New York, London and Hong Kong. *THE DAY TO DAY RESPONSIBILITIES:* - Development of Java based Market and Credit Risk applications - Design/implement business requirements while following the group’s established quality standards - Be a champion for software testing, maintainable code and best practices - Perform all application unit and system testing - Comply with the standard release cycle and deployment controls - Support users as required *THE SKILLS YOU NEED TO GET THE JOB:* - 5+ years of solid application development experience building large scale enterprise Java applications with proven experience working globally with a distributed software team working on end-to-end development. - Good understanding of Object Oriented Methodologies, Design Patterns and Multi-threaded applications. - Working knowledge of databases, SQL for development of loaders, batch jobs, feeds, reports, scheduling AutoSys jobs, creating ftp jobs, writing database stored procedures, triggers, views etc. - Windows / Linux scripting experience - Strong knowledge of messaging interfaces (MQ, JMS etc.) - Good knowledge of test driven development and experience using Agile development practices. - Solid Business facing skills and previous experience dealing with the Front Office - Experience with Market and Credit Risk for Fixed Income, Repos, Securities Lending and Equities.
