Ability to serve as a technical lead for project implementation, drive technical site escalations to conclusion and provide a leadership example to junior staff members. *Generally: * Plans, installs, tests, and maintains systems. Contributes to selection, design, and implementation of hardware, Operating Systems, and technical solutions to solve business problems. Includes maintaining and improving on eBay's strict technical standards as it relates to performance and availability. *Hard Skills:* Responsible for operationally excellent management and implementation of Unix/Linux based security focused systems including but not limited to proxies (reverse and forward), bastions, SSH services, SSO, scripting, etc. Experience with open source software is required. Strong preference given to automation experience (i.e. Puppet, Chef, Salt, Ansible...). A moderate understanding of encryption technology and networking is preferred. Developer experience is preferred. Additional experience with Windows is nice but not required. *Soft Skills:* Is able to work as part of a team and follow disciplined processes. Can effectively balance work across a variety of projects. Communicates well in both written and verbal form. Ability to serve as a technical lead for project implementation, drive technical site escalations to conclusion and provide a leadership example to junior staff members.
