*JOB TITLE:* Linux/Unix Admin *LOCATION:* Hopkins, MN – on-site *DURATION:* 8 Month Contract *COMPANY:* Cargill *What will I be doing?* - Responsibilities will include Linux and Unix server administration, installation, configuration, tuning, patching and anti-virus for both test and productions servers - Monitor, and build and maintain scripts and processes within the system - Work with technical teams to support issue resolution across integrated applications - This position requires some travel to client sites in North America - The systems that run on these Linux systems are critical 24x7 and there will be participation in an on-call rotation - The purpose of these Linux environments is to host critical Oracle databases for plant production applications - Technologies include: virtualization on VMware, SAN-connected storage, and Oracle fast failover - This position will work very closely with our database administration team to ensure proper Oracle environment configuration and management *What skills are they looking for?* - 4+ years of Linux/Unix System Administration experience (Red Hat preferred) - Experience working with Linux in a virtual environment (VMware) - Experience with Unix/Linux clustering (high availability services) - Experience with SAN/shared storage across servers (physical or virtual) - Experience with Oracle Fast Start Failover and how to host on Linux - Must be able to work independently - Strong written and verbal communication skills - Self-starter with the ability to proactively identify possible issues and suggest corrective action - Available for 24x7 on call support - Ability to travel up to 10% *Preferred Qualifications:* - Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent - Tomcat or Apache experience - Oracle 10g Database Administration and production support - Oracle SQL and PL/SQL experience - Perl or Shell scripting experience - J2EE application deployment experience - Hardware experience – All makes and models of Dell and Client hardware. Any experience with load balancers considered a plus - Database Software experience– Oracle 11g/12c or SQL 2008/12 - Linux Infrastructure experience – DNS, LDAP, Red Hat Satellite Server, RPM packaging, SMTP, SNMP, NFS, SVN, DHCP, VOIP, SQL, Ngrep, Wireshark, tcpdump, SELinux.
