Client: Arch MI Location: Greensboro, NC (Onsite M-F) Rate: $42/hr MAX Position: F5 Network Engineer with both F5 and Citrix Netscaler required Contract: 3 month contract Interview Process: Phone/Skype Status: H1 are fine, need good communication The F5 Network Engineer applies strong networking skills and knowledge to design and administer company application delivery and load traffic management on the BigIP F5 appliances. Role includes planning, testing, implementating, configuring, supporting/troubleshooting and coordinating F5 activities/requests with development and infrastructure teams. He/She operates independently under broadly defined guidelines and direction from the manager. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES 1. Designs, architects, manages Application Delivery and IRules policies on the F5. 2. Plans and applies firmware patches and upgrades to the F5 appliances. 3. Interfaces with IT Security team to ensure sufficient internet/intranet security as it relates to the F5. Evaluate and respond to F5-related security alerts. 4. Addresses daily load balancing questions and requests, including problem determination and resolution. 5. Assists with Citrix Netscaler load balancing requests and administration. Responsibilities around this could be expanded depending on Netscaler knowledge. 6. Develops recommended solutions to longer term F5-related issues/initiatives. Works on project planning, cost analysis, proposal writing and coordination of installations/implementations. 7. Develops and maintains load-balancing/routing documentation. 8. Develops, implements and maintains regular reporting on F5 availability & performance. 9. Shares knowledge between fellow team members. JOB SPECIFICATIONS Knowledge & Skills: 1. Extensive and comprehensive knowledge of application delivery and load balancing policies and configurations as they apply to the F5. 2. Experience in F5 High Availability and Virtualization 3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills 4. Strong experience in customizing application delivery with IRules, modifying traffic behavior with profiles and IRules, working with DMZ policies, configuring traffic segregation, and configuring session persistence 5. Experience managing F5 health and server status 6. Experience with SSL offloading, TLS security, and cipher management on the F5 7. Excellent problem solving, analytical skills. Strong attention to detail. Ability to analyze and solve multi-dimensional system problems. 8. Experience with both F5 and Citrix Netscaler strongly preferred 9.
