Hi Samisa, all, I think a "hackathon" is pretty much when a bunch of people decide to get together and work on a project, so this would certainly seem to qualify. :)
As mentioned on Twitter, I would request that you guys be Good Apache Citizens and a) invite everyone to the IRC channel if you're hanging there, b) don't make any major decisions without opening a discussion on the mailing list, and c) have fun. :) Looking forward to the results!
