When site is generated using mvn site:site with maven 3 some links like issue
tracking and mailing list are not working. This happens because currently the
POM uses maven site plugin 2.1.1 which is incompatible with maven 3. So it has
to be replaced with mavan site plugin 3.x. But maven site plugin 3.x requires
at least Maven 2.2.0 to run.
