Tom Seelbach commented on RAMPART-393:
--------------------------------------

Thanks Brian,
I will try patching my sandbox as a workaround Another workaround may be to
just remove the repository.

But I wonder how the repository dependency got published at all, because in
http://svn.apache.org/repos/asf/axis/axis2/java/rampart/branches/1_6/pom.xml i
see this:
...
<artifactId>rampart-project</artifactId>
...
<rules>
     <requireNoRepositories>
          <message>The POM must not include repository definitions since non
Apache repositories threaten the build stability.</message>
               <banRepositories>true</banRepositories>
               <banPluginRepositories>true</banPluginRepositories>

FYI - I'm not trying to build rampart, but rather i'm building part of apache
tuscany (tuscany/sca-java-2.x/trunk/modules/binding-ws-runtime-axis2) and the
invalid repository configuration breaks the tuscany build because of the mvn
behavior which pulls in a copy of the redirect page into the pom for dependent
projects. So for example in my case all these poms get broken in my repo:
$ find . | xargs grep shibb

> depends on shibboleth.internet2.edu which has moved. When you run a mvn
> build with an empty maven repo for a project that depends on rampart, bogus
> pom.xml files are created. (pom files contain the redirect page html).
> Also broken in 1.5 release.
