All right, the documentation bug is at
https://issues.apache.org/jira/browse/AXIS2-6066.
Now that I checked the documentation changes I made, I'll set my PR as
ready for review. Note that it targets v1.8.3-SNAPSHOT -- I made the
changes I needed voor v1.7.9 in another repo. Guess I didn't say that,
I'll post a link on java-user.
Best of luck wrestling this httpclient5!

Definitely file a bug and FYI I will have some time to review your work
soon - I am deep in the httpclient5 update and that is the last major
hurdle for what most people use Axis2 for.
From there, I can then review what you have done in 1.7.9.

Hey Robert et al.
Thanks for the hint. Unfortunately the release instructions are a too
complex for me (do I need a GPG-key?) to quickly test the changes I
made
to the codegen-mojo's documentation. Digging around though, I found
that something went wrong in the site's release process between 1.7.9
and 1.8.2:
https://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/tools/maven-plugins/axis2-wsdl2code-maven-plugin/wsdl2code-mojo.html
<https://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/tools/maven-plugins/axis2-wsdl2code-maven-plugin/wsdl2code-mojo.html>
has information on the old release, but newer docs are to be found on
https://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/scm:svn:https:/svn.apache.org/repos/asf/axis/site/axis2/java/core-staging/tools/maven-plugins/axis2-wsdl2code-maven-plugin/wsdl2code-mojo.html
<https://axis.apache.org/axis2/java/core/scm:svn:https:/svn.apache.org/repos/asf/axis/site/axis2/java/core-staging/tools/maven-plugins/axis2-wsdl2code-maven-plugin/wsdl2code-mojo.html>.
Should I file a bug for that?
What was actually missing for the mojo-page to generate was a
mention of
maven-plugin-report-plugin among the POM's reporting plugins. Perhaps
that should be enabled elsewhere, but adding it did the trick. The
page
just didn't show up in the right place for the site's links to lead
there.
Greetings
-Steven
