[~d.steindorfer] we are about to release 2.0.0 however after all the effort I
would like to release a fix for this issue now, using the code you already
pasted - that will suffice as your best effort to get us a fix here that is
working for you.
I made a commit that passed the unit tests. Please review. FYI, I am hoping to
start a release vote for 2.0.0 in a few days. This is one of the last open
issues for the release.
