I have a simple request that applies to org.apache.lucene.util.Parameter, but before I go suggesting things to add to Lucene, a quick introduction: I'm Joe, I'm working for a company that's using Lucene to build large-ish indexes of documents for clients who'd like to securely store their digital data (a service, not a product.) Lucene so far has been great to work with, but I've found a couple of small things I'd like to see added. One of them is this: an equals() (and prob'ly a hashCode() ) method on either Field.Index and Field.Store, or on util.Parameter. I looked in the issue tracker for something that pertains to this but found nothing, so I thought I'd suggest it.
