Is there anyway to keyword tag issues in Jira? ... if there was, patches that require the core moving to 1.5 could be flagged acordingly, and the real decisison could be made when the quantity and total utility of those issues gets high enough that we feel compelled to make the change so we can commit them.
Yes. We can use a target release for this. We could call the target release "2.1.0", although that might be too loaded of a name. We could instead call it "requires Java 1.5" in the interim.
