I worked in the areas of compiler backend optimization (instruction scheduling), database applications, and eventually search. Recent few years I was involved in a pure Java search engine called Juru, and about a year ago started to work with Lucene, gradually falling for it and getting involved. I very much like the ASF way, and Lucene - design and evolution, - and, still, sure have a lot to learn in both!
