I am new to the group and was wondering why lucene is still on java 1.4 ?

Have you thought about moving to 1.5 ? What are the reasons for keeping it 1.4 ?

Thank you
Matt

I regularly build/test/run on both OS X and XP and Debian. Lucene is targeted at JDK 1.4, but most people run it under 1.5 and I venture that some run it on 1.6.

Hi,
I have few questions about lucene builds and tests.
1. On which jdk versions and operating systems lucene is tested on.
2. I found out information about Lucene nightly builds and tests at
http://lucene.zones.apache.org:8080/hudson/job/Lucene-Nightly/
From the above url, it looks like builds and tests are done on solaris 10.
Is that correct?
3. Is anybody else doing nightly builds and tests for lucene other than the
above.

I run continuous integration build & unit test runs on Suse linux 10
but it's on a machine not accessible outside our firewall. If I could figure out how to get the failure e-mail reports in-line instead of a link to the server I would consider sending them to the dev list.

Dan.
