Well nevermind - no auto commit in either of those. Looks like it was a network 
issue of some kind for downloading files. All of a sudden both are fast again, 
and when they were so slow, TestCompoundWordTokenFilter was hung up 
sun.net.www.http.KeepAliveCache.run(). Different issue, but had something of a 
similar look to it.
