I agree, and Whitespace is easy to explain and understand. Who said that 
Standard or Simple is better, for example (I know you don't say it)? I just 
don't understand why we should force everyone to select an Analyzer even when 
they don't want to, or care.

Remember that all the people out there today already set an Analyzer, so when 
they port to the new API they'll continue setting it (unless they didn't care 
but were forced to do it). New users ... well I hope they read jdocs.

It's good that SOLR doesn't force people to specify the Analyzer ... smart 
decision, for play/example purposes.
