Position: Network Security Engineer Location: Chicago, IL Duration: 12 Months Project Description: * The contractor will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining a threat management platform which performs automated log analysis. He/she will also be responsible for investigating security alerts and performing case management of said alerts. * Job Description: * Contractor will be required to identify and resolve network issues and should have a strong understanding of network security and how network applications function. Contractor will conduct administrative, operational and maintenance activities for the commercial threat managment system. He/she will ensure that the platform is receiving the appropriate logs and processing them accordingly. Requires knowledge of Cisco devices, Linux and Windows operating systems, assorted firewall, ids and proxy technologies. Canidate should should also have a functional knowledge of Java and PERL lanaguages as well as shell scripting. Knowledge of database technologies is a plus.
