Job Description: As a Financial Analyst for Global Research & Development, you will provide financial support for one or more of the science and support lines responsible for drug development. Primary role will be directly supporting a science or support line with responsibility for the financial support of over $100M in annual funding. You will work with the global finance team that supports the line across all sites. The financial estimates, reports and forecasts you develop will be consolidated in the global roll-up that is provided to Corporate HQ. Specific responsibilities could include: - Business analysis and business counseling -- you will be expected to develop a broad understanding of research and development financial and operational issues, to provide critical business analyses to senior management including economic modeling, return on investment resource optimization, productivity analysis, cost savings identification, implementation support and tracking, etc. - Reporting regular, monthly and ad hoc reports; to include actual results, comparison to established target levels, and forecasted estimates. Will include identification of variances and the operational drivers analysis. - Budget Development you will prepare and submit the annual budget, including funding levels and the categorization and timing of spend. Will work to identify reallocation and savings opportunities, and then coordinate budget needs with the global team. - Forecasting responsible for ongoing analysis of spend in the line and the early identification of variances and changes in requirements. - Capital planning responsible for determining capital requirements, identifying options, priorities, for all aspects of capital needs. - Compliance you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with financial control principles and policy compliance. General Function: Analyzes, models and optimizes business processes and data flows. Builds business process models, data flow diagrams, and entity relationship diagrams. Gathers requirements for systems and applications, develops business requirements and technical specifications. Facilitates workshops. Develops business strategies and performs business processes reorganization. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills. Capable of performing effectively in a team, or alone and unsupervised. Communicates effectively with team members and management.
