*Position Title:* Engineer *Location:* MIDDLETOWN, NJ *Duration:* 12 months *Phone interview-* Yes Project Description: (What project will the contractor be working on?) ***** DO NOT submit individuals submitted or Rejected on SR 32721, 33539, 34136, 34137 or 34138 ***** The contractor would work on CDN (Content Delivery Network) and/or Content Management aspect of CDN (ingestion, transcoding, DRM, etc). Job Description: (What will the contractor do on that project?) The contractors responsibilities would be in the systems engineering area as it relates to the new features needed for CDN and their impact on network. The contractor would help plan and design the end to end features with particular emphasis on impacts to the layer 3 network or look at how to integrate next generation Content Delivery with network based intelligence (routing and features) or how to engineer a content management solution. Looking for expertise in one or more of the following areas: End to End CDN performance (management framework, measurement methodology, providing leadership in selecting the right tool/service, end to end support/coordination of service affecting performance issues - especially with respect to network/routing/peering) Analysis, troubleshooting and recommendation for improvement of content routing within CDN across the IP network/Internet (including writing technical requirements and competitive research) Network based features to help transport of large files across Layer 3 networks efficient (such as multicast in context of CDN/streaming/large file download ) Content management (ingestion, transcoding, DRM) The primary deliverables will be service requirements documents outlining technical plans, solutions, designs as well as assumptions. In some cases oversight of implementation and testing new features will be needed (especially when prototypes/trials are relevant). Leading cross functional teams to close on solutions/scenarios and options and complete various trade off analysis will be needed. Some Project Management might be required. Key skills include: excellent systems engineering skills (ability to negotiate and develop end to end solutions), excellent organizational skills to help pull large teams/complex deliverables, IP (especially BGP/Internet routing) and/or web application or CDN background or Content Management background. Strong communication skills (written and verbal). Experience with IP or IP based distributed application planning is important.
