I would like to formally announce that JAVAWUG (Java Web User Group)
is holding the Forty Third Birds-of-Feather (Meet-up 43) at Skills
Matter on Tuesday, 2nd December 2008 from 18:30 until 20:00.

THE TALKS

We four or five OPEN MIKE talks on the same night. This is the BEST
VALUE BOF ever. The final meet up for 2008.
It is happening in London, Skills Matter from 6:30PM sharp.

The line up includes: Peter Pilgrim, Louis Emmett, Phil Zoio, Mike
Burton, Daniel Perry and Sunny Chan

In this final BOF of 2008, we asked "Open Mike" speaker, who kindly
volunteered their time, to talk on up to 15 minutes.
They are limited the time of each talk to strictly 15 minutes and we
have room for four or five slots.

In summary, each speaker can talk about:

    * A technology that runs on the JVM or
    * Software architecture and practice in your organisation

Subject: JavaFX Update

The release date of Java FX 1.0 is happening on the 4th December 2008,
two days later. Peter has some updates on the FX release, which might
be possible share to the JUG members. FX is usable for Java/J2EE
developers and also those who are bonafide web developers, PHP, Ruby,
JavaScript and AJAX. A couple of demonstrations of the current code
base might be possible, depending on circumstances.

Subject: "JMX: You'll Wonder How You Ever Managed Without It"

Louis's proposal is, basically, in 15 minutes to show how easy it is
to instrument Spring Framework applications with JMX. There will be a
introduction for JMX newbies. Those who do not know much about JMX
will be able to understand why this is a very good thing.

Subject: Impala Framework update - modular class loaders and OSGi

In the next release Phil's Impala Framework adds more sophisticated
class loaders as well as preliminary support for OSGi. In this talk
Phil describes some of the options available for modular application
development in Java, ranging from the traditional hierarchical Java
class loader model through to OSGi. He explains usage scenarios for
the options supported in Impala, as well as some of the benefits and
limitations.

Author: Mike Burton and Daniel Perry
Subject: Consuming A .Net Web Service Using Java

Do you need to consume a .net webservice using Java? Well, both Daniel
and Mike have real world experience integrating with .Net Web
Services. In this presentation they show how to do this using Apache
AXIS, and compare it with JAXWS.

Subject: Challenges on Java Application Deployment in a large
enterprise.

Most people deploy their Java application as a Java Applet or a Java
Webstart application. In this BoF I am going to discuss some of the
challenges that we face when we are trying to manage a Java
Application environment  that would work with hundreds of internal and
external Java applications across 15000+ of desktops.
