The Applications architect will be responsible for analyzing users’ requirements planning, designing and evaluating all relevant applications in the JEA environment including COTS (commercial off the shelf) and custom applications software or specialized utility programs. Participate in sessions with customer stakeholders and JEA technical project team for process discovery Through interviews with JEA technical staff and research determine current state Identify all applications, versions and patch levels Develop future state based upon requirements, JEA EA standards and future vision and best practices Identify gaps and create roadmap to achieve future state Assist the System Architect to identify capacity plan requirements Research related products and make necessary software recommendations Determine licensing requirements Design to-be processes to optimize organizational execution in the project environment Work with SMEs and core Idea team to identify organizational requirements and migration plan considerations Test and review process design for alignment with business needs Work with the Technical Writer to develop SAD, SED and As- Built documentations Identify and document risks and mitigating actions Attend project status meeting Required Skills: Experience application architecture experience including leading software development teams Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into work products development experience in J2EE, C#, and .NET Require highly advanced technical and analytical skills. Possess a thorough understanding of the software implementation and architectural practices. Technical exposure and understanding of distributed architecture, web environments, and legacy platforms. Maintain current knowledge of marketplace changes, technology changes, and client businesses relevant to the domain. Demonstrates advanced analytical skills. Possesses an in depth knowledge of programming languages and software design methodologies (e.g., OOAD).
