*KEY SKILLS:*
Candidates MUST know Linux "inside and out" and have excellent experience in
SAN (EMC/DMX Enterprise Storage) and VMWare knowledge. He will be in charge
server configurations, splits, storage, maintenance, etc. Helpful to have
worked in support of an Oracle environment. They are presently on 10g, but
will be upgrading to 11.5.1 soon. Ideal candidates will need to handle
both Linux and Wintel Servers.

*Required Skills:*
· The position's primary responsibility will
be to lead the group to design, execute and troubleshoot Redhat UNIX / Linux
installations, and to administrate & make recommendations for the
datacenters Storage Area Networks. The position will also assist with new
hardware rollout & migrations, occasional Windows patching & troubleshooting
and will participate with the rest of team in on-call rotations. The
candidate interacts with all levels throughout the IT organization,
especially the IT Production/QA/DEV teams as well as product and co-location
vendors.
*DETAILED RESPONSIBILITIES/DUTIES:*
1. Setup, Administer, Document & support Server Hardware running RedHat
UNIX/Linux and Windows 2003 Operating systems
2. Setup, Administer, Document, & support Storage Area Network Systems
(EMC/DMX Enterprise Storage)
3. Participate in day to day Server & infrastructure troubleshooting with
the rest of the Server operations team. This is measured by
successfully closed helpdesk tickets.
4. Support a variety of applications running on the Linux and Windows OS.
5. Participate in implementing system security patches.
6. Participate in on-call rotation with the rest of the team.
*MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:* The following are the minimum qualifications an
individual needs in order to successfully perform the duties and
responsibilities of this position.
*Skills/Education/Experience:*
• Expert level experience on UNIX/Linux Operating System, preferably RedHat.
• Expert level Experience with SAN management tools, particularly HP EVA
series of storage. EMC DMX knowledge is a huge plus.
• Configuring and maintaining application interaction with database sources
i.e. Oracle
• Experience with fault tolerant systems including clusters, fail over
systems, and Raid storage and volume management. HP Proliant systems a must.
• Fundamental understanding of TCP/IP.
• Fundamental understanding of Windows Server OS.
• Some Experience with scripting languages a plus- BASH Shell, PERL
scripting and/or VBScript
• Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under
general supervision
• Ability to organize workload for effective implementation
• Strong customer and results orientation
• Ability to interact effectively at all levels with sensitivity to cultural
diversity
• Ability to function as an effective team member
• Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
