Role Description
Assigned technical area (M&B, Distributed) - the Technical Sr. Leader
expectations are as follows:
With General Guidance and Coaching, identify the components required for a
technical development within the impacted systems (i.e. JCL, schedule,
capacity, job stream, space requirements, operational dependencies, etc.)
Consult with the functional business areas regarding the refinement of
business requirements and business and designing or determining the
technical solution
Develop scenarios, test cases and sequences of testing events specifically
addressing the business requirements.
Determine programs, jobs and systems to execute for defined system updates.
Acts as a project team member, providing expertise on the technical needs of
the technical area.
Creates technical development plans, scenarios, test cases, and test data
Responsible and accountable for driving the development plans through the QR
process.
Responsible and accountable for the execution of the approved development
plans.
Required to document all test results within the agreed upon time-frames
outlined by the project workplan.
Provide pro-active consultation on the development plans and schedules to
optimize the overall development effort.
Role will require support on weekends and after core business hours.

Skills Needed
6+ years supporting a major application in an environment similar to CLIENT
5+ years experience performing and executing development and maintenance
under a formal IT QA methodology.
4+ years experience in a mainframe environment
5+ years experience and strong knowledge of COBOL, IMS, DB2 and other
mainframe tools.
5+ years experience in and online IMS DC
5+ years in the development and maintenance of business applications
Experience in a distributed environment a plus.
2+ years experience with systems or operational area.
Demonstrated experience using industry standard tools for mainframe and
distributed environments.
Demonstrated ability to perform triage functions for identification of
defects.
Ability to understand requirements and impacts of requirements on existing
technical system components.
Ability to extend knowledge of technology to new or changed system areas.
Knowledge of approaches, tools, and techniques for recognizing,
anticipating, and resolving system and operational problems identified
during the testing process (such as use of Strobe).
Works effectively, efficiently with team members
Communicates effectively (concise, appropriate to audience, specifically)
both orally and via the written word
Willing to learn and grow
Does not require high degree of leadership direction
Self motivated and can work independently
