Looking for a senior *Cognos Administrator* for a *Reston Virginia* this is
a *6 month contract position*.
*BI** Administrator *
This person will be an expert on performing administration tasks and
developing and deploying the metadata layer, *BI reports*, and OLAP
structures using Cognos Suite of Products. The primary responsi*bi*lities
include the following:
*Operations Support *
• Work with architects and infrastructure group to define optimum hardware
configurations for the *BI* installation
• Installation and Configuration of the *BI* Tool
• Responsible for maintaining technical architecture and staying up to date
with product Service releases
• Responsible for coordinating and implementing system upgrades and service
releases
• Ensure that *BI* system is in compliance with the College Board's security
guidelines
• Ensure maximum availa*bi*lity
• Support daily operations and perform routine administration Tasks
• Usage monitoring and auditing
• Performance tuning and monitoring of the *BI* environment
• Troubleshoot performance and other *BI* related issues
• Scheduling batch jobs with the IT operations staff
*Development Support *
• Lead Portal Integration and Customization tasks
• Define the Physical to Business Model Mapping (Abstract/metadata Layer)
• Create *BI* deployment packages
• Deploy packages in Dev/QA/Stress/Prod environments
• Developing and maintaining technical documentation about the
implementation
• Testing changes/modifications
*Experience *
• 7+ years of IT Experience
• 5+ Years of Data Warehousing and *BI* Experience
• 3-5 Years of Cognos Development Experience of which at least 2+ Years is
related to Cognos Administration
• Strong Data Modeling skills with exposure to data warehousing
architectures and dimensional modeling
