We are seeking a *Sr. BI Developer* for our client in *Stamford, CT* *- 6+ months contract* -6+ years database application development and design experience -3+ years data architecture experience in a technical leadership role -5+ years development experience with Microsoft SQL Server Transact SQL and programming stored procedures, database triggers, functions, UTFs, etc. Knowledge of distributed database designs and SQLServer replication - 5+ years experience with multi-dimensional databases and OLAP technologies; specifically Microsoft Analysis Services 2000 and Microsoft Analysis Services 2005 -3+ years experience with Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), 2005 and Microsoft Data Transformation Services (SQL Server 2000) -2+ years experience with Analytic tools, such as Microsoft Excel, ProClarity or other OLAP capable business intelligence tools -Strong knowledge of database design principals -Knowledge of data architecture concepts such as OLTP and OLAP systems, operational data stores, data warehouses, data marts, staging databases and data servicing layers; experience in designing these data architectures -Strong knowledge of data warehouse practices, star schema designs and data feed strategies -Understanding of data modeling concepts such as use of conceptual, logical and physical data models -Demonstrated experience in relational database query tuning and indexing strategies -Demonstrated experience with OLAP repository performance tuning and optimization (with SSAS) -Experience with report development tools, Microsoft Business Intelligence Studio, Microsoft Reporting Services is desired -Knowledge of and experience utilizing MDX within analytic cubes or as query of OLAP repositories -Familiarity with SSAS Data mining features -Experience using Microsoft Excel pivot tables and other reporting capabilities desired -Microsoft database professional certification -MCTS or MCITP a plus Successful candidate will have to be very comfortable to create cubes and create calculated measures (with MDX) as well as build ETL with SSIS.
