Duration : 1 Year. *Job Description:* Develops software programs of a complex nature, including operating systems, applications and/or network products for external use. Develops project plans, functional specifications and schedules for these products. Designs and performs analysis on complex programs and systems. Assists in determining product requirements and enhancements. *About the Project:* Are you passionate about cars? The Microsoft Auto team is working on the next generation platform for in-car infotainment systems. For our next major release, we are in the process of enhancing several of the media features supported by Microsoft Auto, as well as adding a few new features that are highly desired by our partners. One of the new features is the ability to rip and encode CDs in the car into a local storage, add support for shock proof playback of CD audio and provide mechanism to retrieve metadata from CD data providers such as grace notes. In this position, you will spearhead the architecture, design and coding of this feature, work closely with our partner response team. *Requirements: * · Masters in Computer science · Minimum of 3 years of experience in shipping products, as a solid developer*. No short assignments- at least one year in length*. · *Strong background in Win32 and WinCE programming, C++,* Object oriented design and *multi threaded programming*. Both high application level and embedded coding experience are needed for this project. A working knowledge of systems and database code is important. · Solid knowledge of the computer science fundamentals – Operating system concepts, memory management and threading. · Exposure to *DirectX -for audio, DMOs, COM, ATL, performance optimization* are highly desired but not a strict requirement. · Prior MS experience is ideal.
