MVS/VM System Programmer Start Date: ASAP Duration: 6-8 months Number of resources = 1
Duties/Skill Set: " Use technical expertise to resolve issues and restore service following system failures and outages. " Maintain software currency and vendor support by installing preventive maintenance and release upgrades to IBM and third party products. " Install corrective service as necessary to resolve problems or as prerequisites for upgrades or other projects. " Enhance system stability and performance by exploiting new function enabled by software upgrades. " Utilize vendor publications, web sites, and other documentation to install and support their products on systems. " Manage and install hardware upgrades and changes. " Manage and resolve HPSD incident, event, and problem records. " Manage, initiate, and perform system changes, using the RFC process. " Lead or participate in major IT project activities. " Maintain license codes for program products. " Use technical expertise to act as consultant and advisor to IT Leadership, Project Managers, Frontline Operations, Solutions Support, and Application Development. " Create, revise, review and enhance Operational Procedures and other documentation used by the Service Desk, Frontline Operations, MTS, Solutions Support, or other groups. " Write or revise exits and other programs to implement or facilitate system-related functions. " Maintain PARMLIBs, IODFs, and other system and program product configuration files (MVS). " Maintain System Configuration files, User Directory, and other system and program product configuration files (VM). " Other duties as assigned.
