*Title: **UNIX Server Support Specialist***

*Duration- 6 months*

*Bill-**Rate- $40/hr inc. all on C2C*

*DESCRIPTION OF SERVICES *

Subcontractor will be working as part of the Technical Service Unix/Linux
technical support team, and will be responsible for the administration,
maintenance tasks such as security patch installations, and implementing new
solutions within the Unix/Linux Server enterprise environments.
Subcontractor should be self-motivated to gain additional knowledge within
those technical support areas and is expected to share and teach others
within the technical support team. The subcontractor must be able to analyze
problems, debug, perform break/fix solutions, and develop new solutions
within most areas of the IT Unix/Linux Server Technical Infrastructure
environment. In addition this person should be able to help with the
configuration of systems that must interface with the Unix/Linux Server
systems.

In-depth knowledge of at least one, but not limited to the following
Enterprise Data Center topologies, and with working knowledge of a broad
range of IT services and applications

1. Unix/AIX Server Administration including Installation, troubleshooting,
cluster configuration, root cause analysis, security patch installations
Upgrade
2. SAN Topologies
3. Network Topologies
4. Red Hat Linux Operating System: Advanced
5. AIX Operating system: Intermediate
6. UNIX configuration and troubleshooting: Advanced
7. Core Infrastructure: Intermediate
8. HW/ O/S, Utilities Monitoring
9. Unix/Linux scripting: Advanced
10. Service Management: Intermediate
a. Installation services
b. Problem Management
c. Escalation Management
d. Change implementations

-Minimum education requirements: Four year degree in IT related
concentration.
-Minimum of six years of Enterprise level support for Unix/Linux Server
technologies.
-Ability to apply advanced subject matter knowledge to complex business
issues and is regarded as a SME
-Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
-Experience working in an SLA driven environment
-Experience with Clarify, Remedy or other ticketing systems
-Candidate must have proven teamwork and spoken / written communications
skills.

*DESCRIPTION OF DELIVERABLES*
1. Ensure a continuous, smooth and seamless operating environment for the
Customer, both prior to and after system integration
2. Provide administrative support for Customer in support of specific
business needs and requirements including systems monitoring
3. Create custom integration
4. Build documents for Customer
5. Responsible for implementing newly developed solutions into production
and sharing that knowledge.
6. Identifies and resolves Unix/Linux server system production support
problems
7. Provide technical support, resolve Customer issues, and manage calls to
ensure Service Level Agreement deliverables are met.
8. Establish and maintain good cooperative working relationships with all
organizations
9. Serve as a senior technical consultant to the clients and management on a
high level
10. Reviews completion and implementation of system additions and/or
enhancements
11. Recommend corrections in technical application and analysis to
management
12. Perform UNIX/Linux server system implementation and the transfer of
systems into production
13. Provide technical input and solutions to business engagement and other
technical teams
14. Conduct and technically directs projects or major phases of projects
15. Develops solutions to problems within existing environments as well as
new environments
16. Analyze and resolve complicated program support deficiencies
17. Provide technical consultation to other organizations
18. Creates documentation for technical support team for newly developed
solutions
19. Provide a monthly written reports summarizing the Services performed
during that particular month and to date (a report must accompany each
invoice submitted)

*position is for the day shift, working currently Monday through Wednesday
12 hours shifts and every other Sunday*
