For the brave, foolhardy, etc. I've put a test version of
JDK 1.1.6 v1 into
http://www.blackdown.org/~sbb/1.1.6/v1-test
This seems to work reasonably well, although it's reported that KDE and
AfterStep are exhibiting problems with window positioning and possibly sizing.
Many thanks to the PPC Java Linux gang (Scott Hutinger, Kevin Hendricks, et
al.) for tracking down some nasty bugs is the interpreter, and to Stephen Wynne
for helping with tracking down the same and other nasty bugs, keeping up email
correspondence with people on the java-linux list, etc. You guys are the
best!!

PS: I adjusted the README.linux to be much more clear on installation issues
and libc5 vs glibc issues. Let me (via the java-linux list) know what you
think.
