Go ahead and get relevant updates described at
http://www.redhat.com/support/docs/rhl/rh50-errata-general.html
The glibc updates are most important.

You may also wish to install an X11R6 server v3.3.1+ built with glibc
and with internationalization. You can find this at ftp.xfree86.com,
as far as I know.
