Also, look at the graphics settings you're using for X, such as
bpp (bits per pixel). If you're using a high quality mode, such
as 16bpp, then your X server could be eating a *lot* of memory,
such as 20MB or more.
Dropping your graphics quality to 8pp will save you a good bit
of memory.
