Can someone help please?
I am relatively new to linux, but I kind of have to use it for my project.
I downloaded the jdk1.1.5v7 from blackdown.org. and did not find any
instructions as to how to install it on a Linux system (Redhat 5.0)
1) there were two different things there one was glibc and 2) libc, which
one do I need?
I basically downloaded the glibc/v7 version that was 11.X megs long, and
gunziped and untared it.
This is where I am, I would really appreciate some explanation as to how one
would install this.
I think some environment variables needs to be set, like Classpath or
JAVAhome or something.
If so where would I set those?
As I said from the conversation here, I see that one needs to update glibc
from Redhat and a few other things.
Can some one please tell me kind of in a step by step way (I have not been a
linux user up to this point) what I should do.
