V2 should be fine.  In general, its our policy not to commit to dates on
releases, as we're too often wrong.  v5 is very close, but I don't want to
commit to more than that.  And, I'd say that any special patch releases will
distract us from getting v5 out, so I don't think it would be a good thing to
encourage the porting team to take the focus off v5.

If you have the JDK sources, I can show you the patch that you need to make
to socket.c to fix the problem, but then, if you have the sources, I can point
you to the test v5 diffs so you could build your own v5 (assuming we don't
encounter other problems in testing it).
