I am running exactly what you are trying to do under Redhat 5.0
but I am using the 1.1.5v5 redhat rpm (which was located under www.java-linux.org
before it died). I have not succeeded in
getting 1.1.5v7 working, but I have also only used very little time on it. The
reason is that I dont want to mess with something which is not an rpm, since
it makes it ahrder to manage. So please someone make the jdk1.1.5v7 rpm that
runs out of the box for RH5. Actually I build an apache-jserver rpm as well
so that I can easily reinstall it. If you want then maybe
I can send you both rpms?
I can tell you that the servlets run VERY FAST on my box, and I am very pleased
with the setup. My next thing is to try to get
java server pages up. I only have one problem that is that after a period of
a month the servlets start to fail with an error about "cannot access channel"
or something like that, but then I just restart httpd and it works again. I
was thinking about just restarting httpd(apache) each night.
