I use emacs Java mode and GNU make on a RedHat 4.2 Linux server at our "co-lo" (we rent rack space in a computer room). My local machine has a big screen and no brains (133 MHz 586 running RedHat 5.0) because it's mostly just an X terminal over the phone. I guess I like it but I haven't tried anything else (for Java). Over the phone an IDE would probably run even slower than XEmacs. If I continue working from home I will upgrade the speed of my internet connection and/or my computer to do more of the work locally. __________________________________________________________________________ Michael James DC-area Java jobs: http://eliteresumes.com/ Arlington, VA [EMAIL PROTECTED]
