SuSE sells a Linux port of Suns Java Workshop development environment for about $100 US . It's the best Java IDE I've seen for Linux. The CD comes with Solaris and Windows executables and they include a diskette with a patch to create a Linux version. Unfortunately the debugger does not yet work under Linux, but the GUI Builder is great, however it does not deal well with Swing components (they work, but with some caveats, see http://access1.sun.com/workshop/jws20a/jfc_swing.html ). Hopefully they will provide an update to correct this behavior.
